Bangladeshi travellers transiting through Egypt will now need to obtain a transit visa before their journey, according to a new directive issued by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Dhaka. The visa must be secured in advance through the Egyptian Embassy and cannot be obtained upon arrival. Travellers must hold a valid passport and, where required, a valid visa or residence permit for their final destination.
Egyptian authorities have also stated that entry will remain subject to standard immigration checks. The embassy has advised all passengers to complete the transit visa process before travel to avoid disruptions during their journey. The transit visa is valid for up to 72 hours and applies mainly to longer transit stays through Egypt. If your itinerary includes a transit through Cairo or any Egyptian airport, make sure to check the latest visa requirements before booking your flight.
